No Chip Off The Old Block

So a week ago I decided to try out the No Chip Axxium Manicure by OPI on myself so that I would know how to market it to my clients and to share with all my lovely readers.

A week later, all in all, it turned out great as far as not chipping. I think the misconception is that this is a a nail polish. NO MA'AM (or sir) this is a SOAK OFF GEL SYSTEM. You have to maintain this as if you had an overlay. It will grow out at the cuticle. That is when it is time to make a visit to your nail technician for a rebalance. You can you use the OPI regular nail lacquers to fill-in, or change you color, but if colors may not completely match up to the gel. To remove them  YOU MUST SOAK in pure acetone. This process has a tendency to dry out your nails, so if your nails are all ready thin or weak I don't reccomend it!!! Outside of that, it lives up to its name it will not chip days later like a regular polish. They are starting to add more color to the the Axxium palate and have some great ones for Fall and can be seen at http://www.opi.com/.

Reccomend this for: People with healthy nails, if you can't get to the shop that often and you don't change you mind about your nail color that often, other nail techs who can't keep regular polish on because of acetone, people who work with their hands but not hard enough to break a nail!

Fall Back!!!!!

Hey everybody!!!! This is my first post, so I hope you all enjoy. My purpose as an industry professional is to keep you up on the latest trends and what's just plan HAUTE,  so let me get to it! As you all should know by now with the kids going back to school, cooling of the temps, and the loss of daylight FALL is right around the corner. If your like me and you dread the fall, it won't rear its ugly head til September 21st. In the meantime we must embrace it and get ready for it. One way I like to transition is after labor day changing over my polishes to the new Fall color kits.

One kit that promises to be popular is the Vintage Vixen by China Glaze. It consist of  not  only warm earth tones, but cool and rich ones that put you in the mood for the changing of the season. It also has sparkling flecks in it to give you a hint of Pzazz or just enough POP as I like to say. The palette has a sassy but classic feel with fun names like Jitterbug, Going My Way, and Hey Doll. The apple of my eye in this collection is Classic Camel color which is just that. The color palette definitely has an vintage feel which was popular this year on the fashion runways for Fall 2010.

Style suggestion: Moon/Lunar Manicure in homage to the starlets of Old Hollywood!
